X-Factor-Ed Journals

Daily Journal reflections was always part of the proposal for this WHS Peru Trip 2026 ‘…with a purpose’.  Students always benefit so much more from experiences if they take the time to ‘unpack’ them by writing a journal AND when they are guided to consider different perspectives and applications for these experiences and the learning that comes with them, in the future.  Each student was given an X-Factor-Ed Journal and we have found time (during our busy schedule) to re-count every day and reflect on it.  When we arrived at Casa Amazonas we were able to ‘catch up’ on our journals (after an overnight bus journey and a night in the Ccoccor community).  Their guided reflection was a halfway point of the trip questionnaire and a goal setting challenge for the remainder of the trip.  I am sharing a video of our session in the Yoga Shala on Sunday night (you could hear a pin drop) and a photo of the journal.  I hope they treasure this book for the rest of their lives (and perhaps share some of their reflections with you).

I am very confident that these children are developing into young adults who will make a profound positive impact on their return to Australia after these 15 days in Peru.
