From the Amazon to Paracas
Today we had an early flight so we woke at 5:00am and packed and loaded the bags into the buses (we haven’t done that for almost 4 days) and went to get out BB (Bagged Breakfast) from the ‘comedor’ and thanked the staff for their amazing food and service.
It was sad to say goodbye to Casa Amazonas. We boarded the flight to Lima and then a bus directly to Paracas. On the way we stopped for a very tasty Peruvian delicacy “Chicharrones” (Boiled and fried Pork sandwiches with onion and sweet potato) … which proved very popular (especially with some who had missed their ‘animal protein’ while enjoying the mainly vegan/vegetarian menu at Casa Amazonas).
We finally arrived at our ‘interesting’ hotel in Paracas and dropped our bags to go for a walk to see the Flamingos (and lots of other birds) down near the national park (a little too near some might say)!
After a lengthy walk we enjoyed making and eating Pizzas at the Sole Hotel restaurant and then had some journal/reflection time and a little bit of House-Building preparation back at the hotel before BED!
Time is running out…we are very keen to “sacar el jugo” (drink the juice) from every remaining minute left. Tomorrow we are going to do something very profound for/with Lizeth and Mallory and their families…..I can’t wait!
