Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program

Wangaratta High Schools’ renewed BYOD Program is designed to prepare students for success in the modern world by ensuring they develop essential digital skills and
literacy.

Why a Personal Device Matters: Teachers will regularly utilise in-class technology-based activities to prepare students for an increasingly digital world. Students from Year 7 to Year 12 is required to bring a suitable, charged device to school every day to support their learning. This requirement ensures every student can:

• Participate fully in learning activities integrated into daily lessons
• Build confidence in managing technology to improve their learning outcomes
• Develop digital skills and literacy essential for future education and employment

Recommended Purchase Option: School Portal: Wangaratta High School has partnered with Learning With Technology (LWT) to provide a dedicated one-stop portal where parents can purchase devices that are:

• Pre-approved to meet all school requirements
• Available at education-priced discounts exclusive to our school community
• Facilitates a technical support and warranty process through the school.

Alternative Purchase Options: Families are strongly encouraged to consider the Learning With Technology (LWT) portal, rather than purchase a device from another vendor due to the warranty support this option provides. We understand families may have different purchasing preferences. The minimum specifications are outlined here:

Storage: Minimum of 128 GB
Operating System: Windows 11 or the current version of Apple macOS
Battery Life: Must maintain charge for a typical school day (6+ hours)
Input Method: Must include a physical keyboard (tablet-only devices with onscreen keyboards are not permitted)

Note on Warranty and Support: Please be aware that devices purchased outside the LWT portal are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty only. The school cannot provide the same level of technical support or warranty assistance for these devices, which may result in longer wait times and higher costs for repairs.

Families can access further information and purchase devices by visiting the Learning With Technologies website.
