The trip finale in Lima
After the inauguration of the Houses of Lisseth and Majory and their families we jumped on the bus and headed back to Lima. We arrived at the Hotel Senorial at about 7:45pm and used quite a bit of hot water to clean ourselves up. We met for a profound final reflection session trying to unpack all that had happened in the past two days…and indeed the whole trip. Gus and Isaac closed the reflection beautifully with expressions of gratitude, inspiration, euphoria of being able to help others and, as Gus said “…I will never complain about not having something…. ever again”…. Then (finally) the pizzas arrived and we ate and slept.
The next morning we packed everything and stored the bags and headed out to the Miraflores Parque Kennedy and the Incan Market to buy souvenirs (I hope you all were pleasantly surprised with your gifts). We then enjoyed lunch at a Chifa Restaurant (Peruvian/Chinese fusion) before walking back to the hotel and catching the bus to the airport….. 25 hours later it was Monday morning and we were greeted at the Airport and reunited with our families.
What an incredible trip what an incredible community we built (and I include you bloggers as part of that).
Thanks to everyone for your support.
…until Peru (…with a purpose) 2028!!!!
Harry
